The big event!

Working all night in a parking lot in Brooklyn full of weeds and slugs. The occasional crack head stopped buy to see what was up and offer input on aerodynamics.

After staying up all night and then doing 6.5 hrs of driving with the racer in tow we arrive at the most awesome race track I have ever seen!

The start of the build

Hey everyone, here's the first day, a long one at that, of the building of the car...

We started early at Joe's shop and got to work fast.

As soon as we started, we found ourselves in a bit of a pickle.

Every place we had to weld was either covered in dirt or a thick rust protecting undercoating that was quick to catch fire from the mig welder.

We cut some tubes, tack welded them in, got the "ok" from Jay at 24 Hours of LeMons and finished up the welds.

Got the seat mounted up and place the belts in...a slight adjustment will be needed, but we took care of a lot of stuff yesterday and the tough stuff is done.

Next up, the bolt on pieces.

Alright guys, I have installed a new battery and threw in 5 fresh gallons of gas. Flipped the ignition switch and pressed the start button. She, the Storm that is, fired right up.
Here's a few pics and a video of our little gem.
Also, on the LeMons website, our "car" info has been updated...and the best thing is that she'll be able to be racing under a familiar #47.
I'll show you guys some sketches I have for the paint job. Flat black...2 yellow racing stripes favoring the right side of the hood and running all the way back...white circles for the number...and large "stencils" for the 47 as well as "brooklyn bomb squad" up where Ted's name is.
It's gonna look dope.

Pickin' up a $400 race car

Here it is. Owner Ted Nicklas did us a deal and now we own this proven dirt racer. This will become our super road race machine.  Capt. Silverado and Speed Monkey in rare form. Chuck did the towing. This is the worst my van has ever looked.
